Malaysian electro-pop artist ZE! redefines glam with the release of her new album I Am Glam. This loud and brash disco rebel is hugely influenced by Madonna and her style has drawn comparisons to Lady Gaga, The Ting Tings, M.I.A. and Santigold.

From the day she began gigging back in ‘99, ZE! has always been known for her passion for „trashion”; she has modeled for designers Charles of London, Criminal Damage and headlined fashion events by Reebok, adidas and Vice Magazine. ZE! styles herself and designs her own outfits, making every one of her shows a little catwalk of her own.

During her previous tours, ZE! has opened for Chicks on Speed, Don Rimini, Mickey Moonlight & Afrikan Boy – and is currently working on a tour with French DJ/Producer, Joachim Garraud, following his upcoming Dim Mak Australian Tour this June.

1. What is your favorite color? Why?
// Hot pink! in case that wasn't obvious. I like pink because it's the most controversial colour out there. It represents femininity so strongly - u can only either really love it or really hate it.

2. What kind of tee’s design you are in to?
// i hardly wear t shirts but when i do i like tees with bold designs and a meaning or message on them. Like, i have one that says "Wear Whatever. Just wear it right."

3. Who is your favorite fashion designer?
// Betsey Johnson! She is amazing, i love her and her work. I love that she is all about colour and animal prints and fun - so glam and so punk. Everything i would put together into my own outfits. Would love to collaborate with her someday :)

4. Do you shop every week?
// Not really. I do it when i have the mood - also i am such a bargain hunter and i love finding things in a flea market or garage sale and find something so old & retro for a dollar or something. That would totally make my day. I once found a pair of boots at a market in London, they were exactly my size and for ONE POUND. CRAZY!! And another time, i traded a smoothie for a yellow pair of heart-shaped sunglasses i found at a festival - which i ended up wearing in my I AM GLAM music video.

5. What is your first pair of shoe?
// How on earth would i remember this? Strange question, man. NEXT!

6. Do you collect toys?
// I do, actually. Mostly from McD Happy Meals :)

7. What is your opinion about the street wear market today?
// Thriving. As a customer, there is so much shit to choose from, it's fantastic. I mean, i hate buying items that every other fashion victim seem to be wearing and i prefer fresh independent designers nobody's heard of. Thanks to social networking and the internet, you find them easily.

8. What is your philosophy about the art of fashion?
// For me, first and foremost it's important that i am completely comfortable wearing what i want to wear and that i am able to move in it. I normally would also put on just one item that would make people stop me on the streets and say "Hey, i love your shoes!" or "Oh my god, wear did you get those leggings?". Fashion has been a great icebreaker for me, i've made a lot of friends just from the things i wear. Great, isn't it?

And really, WEAR WHATEVER - JUST WEAR IT RIGHT.

9. Any last words?
// I like your designs and thanks for asking me about fashion cause i love talking about it. I like your tee design with the Zebra on it, got one in XS ladies size? Hint! Hint!
